I got an email the other day from
Timbuk2, I was expecting the typical "Come look at our new products...", traditional marketing stuff.
There was some of that in the email. However, there was the announcement that they now have a larger laptop messenger bag. Now, Gina and I have seen some of these larger messenger bags at REI recently. However, if memory serves the only ones they had in that size were all black. Now, my mood lately might coincide well with the all black laptop bag, but I would prefer some color.
Back to the email, which announced that
Timbuk2 was now allowing for custom LARGE messenger bags.
I apparently bought the 'Medium' laptop messenger bag.
And for those that don't remember and haven't read that post yet. My laptop doesn't fit into the sleeve of my messenger bag. Which sucked. I have take extra careful steps to make sure that I don't bang up my laptop while it is in the bag. However, I have always felt that if it was able to fit into the sleeve, that I would feel much better about lugging the laptop around with me while I travel.
So, I took a look at building a custom bag, a new LARGE laptop messenger bag.
And then it hit me between the eyes. The bag comes in green and white. I would have ordered the last bag in green and white, but they didn't offer those as color options. I mean, the green they offered at the time was this lime green, not a nice rich forest like green.
So I played around with the configuration. It took me about 24 hours to breakdown and buy the bag.
Now, this I should have known that Gina would want one too. While we were back home she took a look at an MSU (officially licensed) laptop bag while we were at the International Student Center. However, the quality was not great.
I told Gina about how I ordered a new bag and that it would be arriving, well Today. She was a little miffed that I didn't order one for her.
The thing is, the thought had crossed my mind. Except, the messenger bag in my opinion is an acquired taste, in terms of the way in which you carry it. It isn't like a backpack, and the shape of it all isn't like your standard laptop bag with a strap. I wanted her to try my 'medium' bag out first and if she liked it we would order her one.
Mind you, she is the one that graduated from MSU. I just went there for a little while. But we both grew up in Lansing and both of my parents graduated from State.
We will see if she likes the feel of the messenger bag. And I am honestly expecting that we will be getting another delivery from Timbuk2 in the coming weeks.
I managed to snag a few pics before my camera batteries died.
Back to the grind.
